1/2 jar of Ballymaloe 100 Recipe Sauce
2 x thin pizza bases
120-150g sliced ham, Parma ham or roasted vegetables
2 x medium onions, thinly sliced
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp olive oil
200g mozzarella (fresh or grated)
1 tsp dried oregano (optional)

Method

Step 1

Prep: Preheat the oven to 200C (or the temperature indicated on the pizza base packaging). Slice the onions and ham or vegetables.

Step 2

Heat a pan over medium heat with the olive oil. Add the sliced onions and cook gently for 10-12 minutes, stirring often, until soft and golden. Add the brown sugar for the last few minutes to help them caramelise. Set aside.

Step 3

Heat a separate pan over medium-high heat and add the ham or vegetables. Cook for 4-5 minutes until browned. Remove from pan and set aside.

Step 4

Spread the pizza bases with the Ballymaloe 100 Recipe Sauce and scatter over the mozzarella.

Step 5

Top with the caramelised onions and ham. Sprinkle with oregano (if using).

Step 6

Bake the pizzas in the oven for 10-12 minutes (or according to packet instructions) until the cheese has melted and the crust is crisp.

Chef's Tips

Slice and serve hot with a fresh green salad. Finish with a drizzle of olive oil, a sprinkle of chilli flakes, or a few fresh basil leaves if you like.
